Every month, I publish a report of the business & investment income I received during the previous month. I publish these reports to show you what you can expect with an online business & unconventional investments, and I also publish them to keep the motivation to work hard & to grow this number month after month.
In every report, you will find out the details about all the business income I received during the month, all the business expenses, and also all the income I received from investments during the month.
First, I wanted to quickly explain why I didn't publish any income report for July. Well, I got married at the beginning of August, and as some of you might know, preparing a wedding takes a lot of time :) So in July I really focused on preparing our wedding as good as possible, and just did the minimum to keep the business going, so I didn't have that much business or investing news to report about :)
In August, I mainly focused on (finally!) scaling my business using Facebook Ads. That's something I wanted to do for a long time since attending my first Traffic & Conversion Summit back in 2017, and even if I tried many things related to ads on a smaller scale, I didn't seriously focus on it since very recently. I currently focus on using ads to acquiring more leads into my first website that I ever created, Open Home Automation. It's working very well know, as there is one ad in particular that is performing well better than expected and allows me to acquire very cheap leads for this website.
In August alone, this lead generation funnel allowed me to get 250 new leads, for an average cost of 40 cts per lead, which is way below the usual cost per lead that I heard about at conferences and from other entrepreneurs. As a side note, I am also currently preparing a completely free mini-course about how to do exactly the same, and I'll for sure let you know when that's ready :)
I also launched my first ever membership offer on this same website, called the DIY Electronics Academy. The goal is ultimately that this becomes my flagship product on this site, and to drive the leads that I get from Facebook advertising into a new funnel that will introduce people to this membership. I am really excited about that second part of scaling up this website, and I'll of course report it about it next month.
On the investing side, I also expanded my portfolio as I am currently trying out 4 new platforms in the real estate crowdfunding / Peer-to-Peer lending space:
- Crowdestate (real estate crowdfunding platform focused on development loans)
- EstateGuru (real estate crowdfunding platform focused on development loans)
- Envestio (Peer-to-Peer lending platform)
- FastInvest (Peer-to-Peer lending platform)
Those were all platforms that I heard about via other investors, so I really wanted to try them out and then to review them so I can tell you if it's worth investing on them or not. Currently, I can say that I am very satisfied with the early results that I received from those platforms. I will of course continue now to invest on those platforms, and you can expect a full review for each of those platforms pretty soon.
All other investments are performing as expected - I am for example very happy with my recent investment on Grupeer, which is performing as expected. I therefore invested another 1000 Euros on the platform.
On the other hand, I noticed that Mintos recently doesn't have that many loans available with more than 12% of yield, so I expect my yield to go down a little bit on that platform in the future, probably around 11%. However, I am sure the interest rates will go up again in the future.
You will also notice that for the first time, I included the details for each platform inside my income report, so you can really follow the variation of each position of my portfolio. Of course, for this month only, the variation numbers will be at 0 as I didn't have any historical data.
